Android SD card

Move existing multimedia to SD card

  1. Settings > Storage > tap the SD card > tap the 3 dots > Storage settings > Move media

Configure specific applications to use the SD card

  • AntennaPod

    1. Open AntennaPod
    2. Menu > Settings > Choose Data Folder
    3. Navigate to /storage/sdcard1/Android/data/de.danoeh.antennapod > Confirm
  • Camera

    1. Open Camera
    2. Settings (swipe from left on Moto G) > scroll down to SD card icon > Storage location > SD card
  • Copilot GPS

    1. Open Copilot GPS
    2. Menu > MyCoPilot > My Maps > select a region
    3. Make note of and delete all existing maps
    4. Save Maps to > SD card
    5. Redownload maps
  • Google Play Books

    Play Books doesn’t appear to allow you to use the SD card for storage 😖

  • Google Podcasts

    Google Podcasts doesn’t appear to allow you to use the SD card for storage 😖

    Use AntennaPod or Spotify instead

  • Pocket

    1. Open Pocket
    2. 3 dots > Settings > Offline Storage Location
  • Spotify

    1. Open Spotify
    2. Settings > Storage (under Other)
  • Titanium Backup

    1. Open Titanium Backup
    2. Menu > Preferences > Backup folder location > Storage provider > Filesystem storage - Ext SD card > Create a new folder > TitaniumBackup > select TitaniumBackup > Use the current folder
  • YouTube Music

    1. Open YouTube Music
    2. Click your user icon near the top-right > Settings > Library and downloads > enable Use SD card
